Step A - Balance pH

Step A - Balance the pH level

How Often: As and when required
The pH is a measure of whether your pool water is acidic (below pH 7.0) or alkali (above pH 7.0).
Establishing and maintaining the correct pH is important for three main reasons:
Reason 1  It determines the effectiveness of chlorine in your pool.
Reason 2  Correct pH levels prevent corrosion or scaling up of your pool and equipment.
Reason 3   It ensures the pool water is comfortable for bathers. Very acidic or alkali water can cause eye or skin irritation.
Testing the pH and maintaining it within the ideal range of 7.4 to 7.6 will therefore ensure your chlorine disinfectant is working well, that you don't damage your pool and equipment and that bather comfort is maximised.
Please refer to the  Chemical Treatment Summarypage for further information on dose rates for your pool.
Note: As a general guide, you should allow at least one (1) hour between different chemical additions
Next Step:  Add Supreme Chlorinated Concentrate
